After the Dial Tone

Toronto shoegaze quartet Static Bloom unveil *After the Dial Tone*, a hazy, reverb-drenched debut LP eight years in the making. Lead vocalist Jamila Karimi's voice floats through walls of layered guitar like a half-remembered phone call. The band recorded the album themselves in an abandoned dental office across two winters, then mixed it with veteran shoegaze engineer John Fryer (Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil).
